About Me

About Me

I'm a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor specialising in anxiety therapy for adults. I work with people experiencing persistent worry, overthinking, relationship anxiety, low self-esteem, and that difficult feeling of being stuck or disconnected from themselves.

Alongside my private practice, I work within the NHS, supporting clients with complex emotional difficulties, long-standing patterns, and trauma. This experience has shaped a way of working that is both grounded and practical, helping people make sense of what they're experiencing while creating meaningful and lasting change.

I believe anxiety rarely appears without a reason. Often, it develops from experiences, relationships, or ways of coping that once served a purpose but no longer feel helpful. My role is to help you understand what may be driving your anxiety, recognise the patterns that are keeping it going, and find new ways of responding to life's challenges.

I'm not a therapist who simply sits and nods along. I work in a direct, honest, and supportive way, offering both challenge and compassion where needed. Together, we'll explore what's happening beneath the surface, helping you gain greater clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of control in your life.

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, unsure of what they need, or unable to put their experiences into words. You don't need to arrive with a clear goal or a perfect explanation of what's wrong. If something doesn't feel right, that's enough to begin.

If you're looking for anxiety counselling, psychotherapy, or therapy in Newcastle upon Tyne, I'd be pleased to support you. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or simply feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, therapy can provide a space to understand yourself more deeply and move towards lasting change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before your first session, we will usually have had an initial conversation to discuss what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping to gain from the process. During our first session, we will explore this in more depth.

At the start of the session, we will complete some initial paperwork together before beginning to build a fuller picture of you, your experiences, and your current circumstances. This helps us develop a deeper understanding of what is important to you and creates a strong foundation for our work together.

My approach to therapy is person-centred, which means our work is guided by your individual needs, experiences, and goals.

There is no set minimum or maximum number of sessions. Some people find a shorter period of therapy helpful, while others benefit from longer-term support. We will regularly review our work together and discuss what feels right for you as therapy progresses.

Individual therapy sessions are charged at £55 per session.

Payment is made via bank transfer and is required before the session takes place. Details of how to make payment will be provided when your appointment is confirmed.

Feeling nervous about starting therapy is completely understandable and something many people experience. Opening up to someone new can feel daunting, especially if you are discussing things that are difficult or deeply personal.

My role is to provide a supportive, non-judgemental environment where you can feel safe to explore whatever you choose to bring. Building trust and feeling comfortable is an important part of the therapeutic process, and this will be discussed during our initial call.

Get In Touch

I offer a free 15-minute introductory call, providing an opportunity for us to discuss what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions about how I work, the therapeutic approach I offer, and my current availability. This initial conversation can help you decide whether we feel like a good fit before committing to therapy.
